Do you try to be more like your parents and the generation that your parents grew up in, or do you guys try to get with the generation you live in?
I mean this question in terms of personality and life-decisions.

Neither. I would say I try to change others for the better, rather than to adapt to how people around me chose to be. While there are plenty of decent people in every generation, plenty more are shit. Usually I try to nurture/educate people I encounter to raise their standards and 'be better' - one encounter at a time.
How about yourself, Ostan5000?
Eh. Not much. I watched old cartoons 80s 90s even 2000s includes loony tunes, very old disney and first gold tom and jerry cartoon
I just want to be myself and try to be different from the current generation.
neither, my parents generation wasnt that good but neither is gen z even with some good going for it. I rather be myself and try to make a change using me
Neither one, really. I'm just myself. I have my own personality and I don’t feel the need to be like others just to fit in, whether it's the older generation or the one I live in now. I make my own life decisions based on who I am, not based on trying to match anyone else's expectations. So, take your own decisions, be yourself.
If I had been like my parents, I would’ve turned out stupid, narcissistic, and emotionally avoidant. And if I had followed my generation in my country, I would’ve ended up useless and immature. That’s why I chose to be myself, flawed, but self-aware and constantly growing.
Knowing yourself is essential, it's the only way to grow, stay grounded, and live with purpose. If you're just like everyone else, you’ll never stand out and end up like them taking the life-decisions the society decided for you. Find people like you.
Take the best of both worlds.
No. My parents have jobs that I personally think suck.
none. I try to be me I guess
I'm exactly like my fucking parents and all u fucking monkeys
I was born in the wrong generation!!!
In all seriousness, I take a small number of traits from both my parents. Especially without realizing it, I'm kind of like them too. They're flawed and have their ways of working & thinking, but so do I.
Yet they explicitly encouraged me to be only who I want to be growing up. Their generation was, in a way, how I'd want to live growing up into my adulthood, but I'm okay with this time period I'm in.
Just live the best you can.
Basicially I learn from my parents instead of brainwashed adults
Well, my parents specifically are terrible people and I prefer to only think of them as "what not to be like," and I also don't really care for some of, if not the majority of the principals from their generation.
However, I do feel somewhat generationally-fluid in the sense that I don't really seem to identify with any particular one, fluctuating between some old-fashioned viewpoints and modern ones, but to my best ability and awareness, not holding contradictory viewpoints.
I always question things and for the most part, tend to swim against the tide in terms of what the modern generations are doing/what's trendy, but have become more open over the years and can adapt when desired/necessary or live and let live. I was a 90's/early 2000's kid so that era will generally always be close to me in terms of aesthetic and interests, of course. I'm also a pirate/vampire/vampire pirate from the 15th century so there's that too I guess.
Moderation is the ultimate dicipline. Those who do not learn history are doomed to repeat it. When all that is taken care of, I can continue with progressive activities without a high chance of error. Nothing truly changes unless you play to your strengths, even if your family is a burden, you still learn. I will never be like my parents even if I tried. I'm sure the same can be said for everyone. You are either better or worse, no compromise, only evolution.
